MP Gallant announces local funding for Canada Day events

PEMBROKE- Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke - M.P. Cheryl Gallant has announced more than $14000 in funding in support of Canada Day festivities for ten Renfrew County communities “Congratulations to all applicants for taking the initiative to make celebrating the greatness which is Canada even brighter this year,” MP Gallant said. Those receiving of between $200 to $3000 include the Arnprior Canada Day Committee, the Town of Renfrew, Town of Pembroke, Township of Madawaska, Township of Greater Madawaska, Deep River Community Association, Township of Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards, the Eganville and Area Community Improvement Committee, the Whitney Recreation Committee of Township of South Algonquin and the Raglan Recreation Committee and Community Centre Board. June 21st to July 1st, millions of Canadians across the country will take the opportunity to celebrate Canada, its history, and its values. Financial assistance is provided by the Department of Canadian Heritage through its Celebrate Canada! program, which promotes pride in being Canadian by encouraging participation in Celebrate Canada! activities from June 21 to July 1 to mark National Aboriginal Day (June 21), Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day (June 24), Canadian Multiculturalism Day (June 27), and Canada Day (July 1).
