PEMBROKE, ONTARIO… MP Cheryl Gallant, (Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke) was pleased recently to present Constable Dillon Gerudin of the Pembroke Police Force with a blanket for use to comfort individuals in distress. Every year, the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC) provides blankets to worthy organizations across Canada as part of a major national network of charitable giving.
“In an effort to build strong relationships with Parliamentarians, the IBAC provides purple blankets to MPs to donate to worthy groups and individuals in their Ridings,” stated Cheryl Gallant, MP. “I hope to distribute as many of these blankets as I can throughout our Riding.”
The Purple Blanket Program on the Parliament Hill is intended to highlight the concerns of the Insurance Industry. The logo on each blanket, in addition to promoting insurance brokers, represents a stylized human figure, wrapped in a symbolic blanket, indicative of many positive things: comfort, care, security, warmth.
“Individual insurance brokers in our communities are involved in a variety of activities that make area neighbourhoods better places to live,” commented MP Gallant. “I congratulate the IBAC and all of their local members for being a part of the purple blanket campaign,” concluded Cheryl Gallant MP.
